The Journey has began with Children's Hope Uganda

Inspiration
Uganda has inspired me by the fact that I am a Ugandan born. I happen to be a 3rd born in my family.

To all who wished me well or bad.

There are so many things I'd like to tell you face to face. I either lack the words or fail to find the time or place. But for this special day, Dad(Dr. David Bixby), you'll find, at least in part, the feelings that the passing years have left in my heart. The memories of school days and all that you have done to make me happy. For the second chances you have always given me.

I can still recall where you picked me. Where I was like a lost sheep. Where I was in pit of sand almost covering me. I have never forgotten the day I met you at KTC, not even spending ten minutes with you but you changed my life. Those confidential chats and emails we usually have whenever we think about each other. This message comes to thank you Dad and your family, for needed words of praise; the counsel and the guidance, too, that shaped my growing-up days. No words of mine can tell you, Dad, the things I really feel; but you must know my love for you is lasting, warm, and real.

You made my world a better place and, through the coming years, I'll keep these precious memories as cherished souvenirs. I will never forsake you or undermine you because you are hidden in Christ. My love is real and promise to possess the same to many. Dad, you have made my heart so, open, happier and wealthy for the Lord takes care of me.

Thank you dad for the gift of education.

I could not imagine someone from my home reaching this level of education (I have graduated with my bachelors in computer science and statistics because of you dad) but though you, the maiden servant of God, you have done it for me. I will never forsake APU community for, you have changed my life through prayer and charity. I promise to serve our almighty through doing the same and helping many because I have no reason that stops us from helping the needy. Childen's Hope Uganda shall keep here as a a reminder and memorial of your passion for love. I will never forget the day I met Bre Williams, Lauren Ellings and their team.

They have really become the pillar and foundation for this without forgetting Rhonda Thatcher for reminding me everyday that its possible

I have nothing I can give you but only the almighty Lord to keep shining in you to serve him to the end.

Children, obey your parents in all things: for this is well pleasing unto the Lord. Fathers, provoke not your children to anger, lest they be discouraged (Colossians 3:20-21

Being a beneficially of Azusa Pacific University where Dave happens to be the Executive Vice President inspires me allot and makes me feel like thanking God in a special way.

Sometimes, we meet people and we are like, eeeehhhh! Thank you Lord for bringing us together. You never know who these people may be; your roommate, your neighbour, professor, lost friend, lover or even a complete stranger who, when you lock your eyes with them, you know that very moment We need a reflection..

I am to commit my heart to serving the living God for who am  not to thank him. I would encourage and urge whoever reads this note to know that we have a big God who sees us. A big God who knows us the way we sleep, when we wake up and whatever plans we have. He reminds us not to worry about tomorrow for tomorrow will worry about itself. With this commitment, lets shine with Children's Hope Uganda. A newly born ministry that would keep reminding us of the good deeds Dr. David Bixby has done to my life. By helping more realise their dreams may make us proud in the Lord.

I bring to you this and acknowledge that no turning back. Together, we bind the broken- hearted, the psychologically torched, those sexually harassed, the abandoned, sexually abused, the exploited ones. Together, we shall bring hope to the hopeless, the street children of Uganda, the poor ones.

Lets proclaim the Lord's favour through improving the quality of life of orphans, vulnerable, street children and marginalized through empowerment of rural community people in various areas affecting them build their capacity especially the ones who have lost the dear ones and left with no parental care and love.

A team of students from APU challenged and realized the needs of an African child after walking and experiencing the humility in streets of Kabale town southwestern Uganda.  After meeting a team of nine students from APU in 2011, my life changed  they picked three kids from the streets of Kabale. They have blessed them with education. They provide all the needs both in school and outside school. You never know, the Lord would bless you too by blessing another kid from the street.

Thank you Breanne Williams and Lauren Ellings and all your teammates for blessing a Ugandan child. My heart kept on saying who am I not to appreciate and thank God for the far he has taken me.

In 2012, I was blessed to work with another team from APU led by Andrew Fakatoka. The Lord does his own things at a right time. It did not take even a minute for Alyson Thatcher with an African name Mbabazi to change the life of Gracious Kasigwa. He happens to be one of the boys that grew up from the streets of Kabale town begging after losing all his parents.Alyson has combined with Mr. Rene Bos and they support Gracious by providing all the necessities. He is happily studying and he is in senior three at Trinity College Kabale.

One challenge was that in holidays, these kids would go back to streets which was not a good idea for someone studying. I realize they need a home where they could be in such holidays like this one from December to late January next year. We have rented a big house and the number of the kids we take care of have increased to 15 as I talk. We happen to find challenges of feeding them, providing all the necessary upkeep. Our prayer is to find good people willing to help through in many ways. There are different opportunities where any one irrespective of age, color, origin would help out.

You could contact us or call us through katlevis2000@live.com  and +256 775 158763 respectively for more details about what you could do. We are waiting for your contact or comment to know how amazing you to serve the living God.
