Min 2/2014: Communication from the chairman
He chairman welcomed members and thanked them for accepting their roles as members of the board of CHU.  He as well thanked the volunteers that took their time to edit the proposal that was submitted to the government agencies. He informed members that a visit to the CHU home was conducted by the team from the ministry of health and probation offices to see the standards of Children’s Hope Uganda in the same months.
Early March this year, a letter was received and we were tasked review our standards as presented on the separate papers you have and also to include Local councils (1, 2, and 3), one member from health and probation office as board members since it’s a community based organization. The level of commitment from the volunteers and sponsors was to be through the signing of ministry agreement to protect Ugandan children.
 The letter was as well an advice to have an orphanage as transitional home where street children and other vulnerable children would stay as research is being made about their relatives and families and empower them through a number of activities to make them support their children.

Min 3/2014: Reactions
One member highlighted on the guidelines followed by the probation office for a child to enter any orphanage home of which CHU home is among;
·         Contact is made regarding a vulnerable child or children in the town or a village
·         A visit is made to see the children and the guardians-if there are any
·         Then contact is made with the LCI Chairman, LC2 Chairman, and LC3 Chairman to verify that the child is an orphan and in a dire state.
·         The management of CHU, the guardians and the LC Chairmen then reach an agreement that the child/children should be taken care of by CHU
·         The District Probation Officer signs the foster forms and forwards them on to the court for an application for placement of the child into CHU Homes.
·         Upon receiving the child, the foster mother takes the child for a medical examination and the results are then filed in the child’s individual record file.

One member suggested that to have a modern home, it would require a bigger fenced house with enough space for games and sports. He also suggested a fenced house with ample space for games and sports as well as farming is concerned in Kitumba ward in Southern Division Kabale Municipality where the board members visited and confirmed it. The main reason for a bigger house that is fenced would be to create enough space in the rooms. Currently, we have one care mother with five young kids that urinate on beds and are sleeping in another house out of town whom we propose to join CHU soon. The vision bearer informed the board about the new orders made for the decker beds that we hope to receive as soon as funds are available.

This sponsorship program being one of the many ways to help may include educational sponsorship and project sponsorships. Our proudly sponsors have heard your cry and together shall continue to impact lives of many.
Community outreach
The ministry shall work hard to sponsor needy children, abandoned, orphans, and the less fortunate in villages of Kabale and Uganda at large. We shall organize educational grants to help supplement school fees, hygiene and medical care. More love will go a long way to helping these children reach their God given potential.
A schedule/timetable was drafted to reduce the redundancy of children in the homes and moving of children back to the streets to be exposed to street life and other obstacles. Also, strict rules were put in place to protect children especially from the surroundings.
The director of CHU informed the board about the two visitors that would be visiting the home between 17th March 2014 and 1st April 2014. The director as well welcomed the board to take part in welcoming visitors as they would require more information about the needs of the organization.
